The Radha Kalyana Mahotsavam, a grand cultural festival that began in 1923, has been taking place in Chennai for the past 100 years and has gained immense popularity. Adorned in various places such as Krishna Iyer Street, Village Road, and the Vaidyanatha Iyer Street Upanishad Ashram, the festival is currently being held at the Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Swamigal Mandabam located in Noor Veerasami Lane - Nungambakkam, organized by the Radha Kalyana Mahotsav Institute Trust - Nungambakkam. Each year, Radha Madhava Vivaham commences with the blessings of Kanchi Acharyal, Bodhendral Guru Nathar, Thiruvisanallur Ayyaval, and Marudhanallur Swamigal.

The Radha Kalyana Utsavam, which used to take place for five days in the earlier days (before and around 1970), is currently being celebrated for three days. Another name associated with Radha Kalyanam in Nungambakkam is known as "Bucket Radha Kalyanam." This name originated from the practice of acquiring new buckets (including laddles) each year to serve food for the devotees. The devotees participating in the Radha Madhava Vivaham in our Nungambakkam eagerly immerse themselves in the Vivaha Vaibhavam (marriage celebration). They express that their hearts are devoted to Lord Krishna and they experienced that their desires are fulfilled with lord’s blessing sooner.
